Summer is here and there’s a good chance you’re facing at least a few extra mouths to feed during the weekdays with your kids home from school. Although you want to feed your kids healthy meals, not many people have the time to plan and cook a full healthy lunch each day. This is the perfect time to let your George Foreman grill step in with some fast, easy and fun summer ideas for kids’ lunches.

All of the foods listed below can be cooked in less than ten minutes, so they’re perfect for busy parents who need to feed the kids fast and continue with their day. Plus, since they’re cooked on your George Foreman grill, you can knock out the fat as you cook, so they’re healthier, too, without any extra work.

A Happier Meal

Make some burgers on your electric grill (you can use frozen patties to make it even faster). Then, let your kids top the burgers with whatever they want and serve it with a fruit cup or baked potato chips on the side. The burgers will cook in about 4-6 minutes, so even with the preheat time you’re done with the cooking part of the meal in about 10 minutes.

Hot Dogs for Hot Days

Hot dogs only take about 4-5 minutes on your George Foreman grill. For an extra special treat, try slicing the hot dogs halfway through with a paring knife and put just a bit of cheddar or American cheese inside, then hold them closed with wooden toothpicks for super-fast, super-easy cheese dogs. This one is especially good if you have a removable plate grill so you can skip any scrubbing and simply throw the plates into the dishwasher if any cheese leaks onto the surface.

Upgraded Grilled Cheese

Grilled sandwiches cook in 3-5 minutes on a George Foreman indoor grill. These makes George Foreman grilled cheese one of the easiest foods you can make, usually done in less than 10 minutes. For an extra treat, use different kinds of cheeses or add meats and vegetables for a full deli-style hot sandwich.

Quick & Easy Quesadillas

If you have a 360 Grill™ or George Foreman Quesadilla Maker, you can make 6 full-sized quesadilla triangles in about 3-5 minutes. Although this is fairly close to the sandwich idea, it’s a different taste and provides a nice change from your kids’ everyday lunch food. They can even have some fun stuffing their quesadillas before you set them on the grill.

Easy Pizzy Pizza

Any George Foreman grill with a bake plate or griddle plate can be used as an alternate cooking device to your oven if you’re doing something like pizza. Since the space is smaller, the preheat time will be a lot faster and cooking time will either be the same or slightly less than it would be in a conventional oven. If you have the 360 Grill, you can even fit a 12” pizza in the pizza/bake dish. You can do a quick pizza from scratch with premade dough or even take a prepackaged personal pizza straight out of the box and simply set it into the bake plate to cook.
