Make Tailgating Easy with George Foreman

Party Spread 253x300 Tailgating with George Foreman This weekend marks the official start of 2010 football season and many of us are looking forward to weekends filled with big wins by our favorite teams. Of course, it also marks the start of the 2010 tailgating season, where football fans around the country will support their favorite teams by partying it up out in front of the stadium.

Although traditionally tailgate food is cooked at the venue, in truth, many tailgaters like making the food ahead so they’re not spending their entire pre-game party standing over the grill. If you want to make your tailgate food fast and easy for game day, a George Foreman grill is the perfect answer!

Almost all of your standard tailgate food—burgers, hot dogs, sausage, chicken and steak sandwiches and more—are incredibly easy to cook on your George Foreman indoor grill. You can make the tailgate food ahead of time, pack it up to keep and take it to the stadium with you. This way, you don’t have to lug a heavy grill and all the supplies or spend the entire pre-game making everybody in the parking lot food instead of enjoying yourself.

Even if you’re a tailgating purist and you insist on grilling on the lot, you can still streamline what you do there by cooking at least some of the components of your meal ahead of time. Say your tailgate food is going to be bacon cheeseburgers and chili dogs, and you really want your fellow partygoers to taste that authentic BBQ’d flavor. To simplify your cook time at the event, make the bacon and the hot dogs ahead on your George Foreman grill and then make the burger patties on your charcoal or gas grill at the stadium.

The other nice thing about doing the food before the tailgate party is that it’s going to take you a lot less time to cook everything. Since the contact grill is cooking from both sides, you’re cutting your cook time drastically—usually by about half. This way, you don’t have to wake up in the middle of the night just to make the food and still make it to the stadium on time.

If you happen to have an electrical outlet at the stadium—say, in your RV—then taking your George Foreman grill with you is easy and cooking for a tailgate party becomes a breeze. You can knock out the fat directly at the stadium and cook in less time so you get to actually enjoy the tailgate.

On the subject of using your George Foreman grill to knock out the fat for your tailgate, for those that are looking to make their tailgate food a little healthier, but you still want to cook at the stadium, we recommend the George2Go™ Propane Grill & Griddle. You get the portability and authentic BBQ taste of cooking with propane, but the adjustable slope cooking surface lets the fat drain away as you cook like you’ve come to expect from George Foreman. It’s the best of both worlds—particularly if you do a lot of outdoor partying like tailgating.
