Grill Buying for Mom

Present Profile: Buying for Mom

As we approach the holiday season, it’s time to buy great gifts for the ones you love. Small appliances are statistically one of the most common gifts to give during the holiday season and, in our opinion, the grill is (of course) the best appliance you can buy. To make your holiday purchasing easier, we’re focusing on each member of your family over the next few posts to give you the important points to remember when buying them a grill.

For most moms, the most important point to remember is that you want to make her life easier. Mom doesn’t need to spend any extra time in the kitchen cleaning after meals, nor does she need to waste time doing multiple rounds of cooking because her cooking surface isn’t big enough for her family. So above all you want every part of the grill you buy to contribute to making it easier for her to cook for all of you.

Size: Most importantly, you want to buy a grill that will fit the number of servings she needs to feed your family. In general, for most foods, you can roughly determine serving size by dividing the total surface area of the grill by 20 – basically, using 20 Sq. In. for each serving of food. This way, Mom can cook every portion she needs at once.

Cleaning: Make Mom’s life as easy as possible by minimizing cleanup. A removable plate grill is easier to clean because you can put the plates in the dishwasher or you can buy a grill that includes the grill sponges to make cleaning the plates easier.

Programming: Only buy your mom the programming she needs – i.e. if your mom doesn’t like messing around with a lot of programming features, just buy a basic grill that plugs in and it’s ready to go. Of course, if your mom is a bit of control-freak, she may like the variable temperature and time control, but only buy her a grill that has these features if she’s going to use them; otherwise, it’s just complicating things for her.

No matter which grill you choose, you can buy it and have it shipped in time for the holidays from the electric grills product section of our website. Just look carefully over the features of the product and make sure you’re getting your mom exactly what she needs and wants in a grill.

Holiday Gift Ideas

Shopping for the holidays with George Foreman ecommerce

Friday – the day after Thanksgiving – is undeniably one of the biggest shopping days of the year. While you could spend your holiday fighting traffic and long lines in a store, a better option is to shop online and get your gifts that way. Many online retailers and virtual stores also run promotions on Thanksgiving weekend, so you can still get good deals without the hassle.
