So the final taping was Monday...aaaack!! I've never seen everyone so excited - Troy, Yannick, Derek & I were all abuzz with the anticipation of what results that dreaded scale would bring us. And of course I can't tell what the end result was (you'll have to tune in for that!), but I can tell you that everyone is looking FA-BU-LOUS. Wow. Troy, you're right...I peeked at that first episode and honestly all 4 of us look like different people -- younger, svelter versions of our former selves!
But it's now Thursday, and to be truthful, I was really thinking that as soon as the KOTF challenged ended, I would want to run out and treat myself to a greasy hamburger and french fries, with a chocolate milkshake (a "treat" I am embarrassed to admit to treating myself to so often in the pre-KOTF days!). But you know what? ......I actually *didn't*!!! ?!?!?!? Now granted, with the wintry temperatures of the past couple of weeks, I've found myself craving things like pasta (whole wheat of course!), but I've definitely not lost my enthusiasm for the good ol' grilled chicken salad, which has become the staple of my (and my hubby's!) diet. Plus, when we do make pasta, we still use the G-Broil to grill our chicken and then make a nice fresh sauce from tomatoes and veggies we buy at the Farmers' Market -- nope, no more canned or jarred stuff here, just too much sodium! And speaking of sodium -- now that my daughter is eating much the same food that my husband and I eat, we have an even better excuse to be vigilant about what we put into our bodies. Not only are we serving as models for her, but she is *actually* eating the same foods we do, so when she sees how enthusiastic we are about our grilled chicken, or freshly cored apples with peanut butter (mmmmm), etc etc, well, she wants to share in the fun and eat too!
I honestly feel soooo much better than I did when I started this challenge 6 months ago. For me it was never really about winning or losing (though who would say no to a trip for 2 to a spa anywhere in the world?!) -- I really wanted to change my eating habits, and the way I think about food. Luckily, my husband did too -- he has been incredible throughout this competition and has himself dropped over thirty pounds!! We're not stopping this healthy lifestyle just because the KOTF cameras have stopped rolling....and even though I've already gone from a size 22 (gulp!) to a size 14, I have a feeling I might even be able to lose a bit more....and as a quick side note about that -- Lawson, I remember the first day we met and we were each talking to you about our goals, you told me that you could see me getting down to a size 12 or 14. I was quick to correct you and tell you that I haven't been a size 12 in my adult life EVER (I think 11th grade high school might have been the last time I squeeeeeezed into a 12!), and that I'd be very happy if I could make it back to size 14 -- but you know what? I'm just listening to my body, fueling it with respect and enjoying wearing my beautiful 13 month old daughter all around the city (and even our apartment)....and if the weight continues to come off, well I think you just might have been right about that size 12 thing!!

Well its just two days away from this Wonderful experience. I have really tried
to make this a smooth life transition. I want to thank all of you out there in
the Web World who watched and cheered me on to this new me. The weight may not
have come off like some of the other contestants but just your kind words and
motivation has warranted me to continue losing these pounds that have been
sitting around in my body.
Yesterday I spoke with a nice man on the Airplane who showed me a book on
Testosterone. He encouraged me to have my levels checked because he thinks its
all about the mans Testosterone levels. I will pick that book up ..and thank
you sir for you help.
This is really no excuse but because of the competition is all about weight
loss, Now, instead of percentage of body fat, I know that I wont be finishing
first across this line.
Come Tues afternoon, I will be getting a second opinion on my Hernia Surgery
that will have to be attended to immediately after. The Doc has instructed me
to stop stressing the stomach and to continue eating healthy and thanks to the
G-Broil and the 360 Grills we received from the KOTF show I will be able to do
just that.
Excellent Job!! to all the other contestants and I wish you the best in life. I
hope we can stay abreast to each other and see what the next year brings all of
us. To my Host and Hostess of the show, Thank You Sooooooooooooooooooooooo much
for everything and your encouragement will make me stop and think each time I
look at my pedometer that I wear everyday.
Lastly a really big THANK YOU, goes to the KNOCK OUT THE FAT STAFF, and camera
crew who graciously dealt with me at each taping.
This is the Me and thats all I have. Lets get this surgery over and on with slimming
down and keeping it down. Big Kisses to all of you and THANKS FOR THIS
OPPORTUNITY.

Well you know that
break out I told you about in my last Blog?, Well I have a mild case of Hives.
I have been so very busy with finishing this show and trying to plan this
Hernia Operation that I have worried my self into a case of the Hives. When the
doctor told me to stop stressing my stomach and not to agitate the stomach
area, I got mad at the whole situation and began to breakout. Its now starting
to go away with a mild prescription and it looks like a light case of dry skin.
I wondered why if I drank so much water my mouth was dry and my skin began
looking like a lizard. Don't be scared my fellow Contestants you wont catch
this when I see you in a few days. The only thing is I have stepped away from
the Jumping jacks and the tread mill for a few days. All I can now hope for is
second place but if that doesn't happen then "OH WELL" Sh--t happens
and I will survive.

I am either not
eating the right things or my body is am fed up with Salads and Chicken. My
skin is going crazy with break outs. I look as though I am a teenager and
puberty is about to hit its peak. I havn't drank any soda or sugar filled
drinks in so long. What is making my body do this? I drink tons of water a day
that it can't be dehydration. Who knows what's going to happen to me next but
if losing weight is doing this than someone please help me..NOW!!.
Its now only a few days before the final weigh in and I am still working like
crazy on the weight and taking care of my financial responsiblities at home.
WORK , WORK, WORK and MORE WORK. I wish I could click my heels and have
everything in a happy place but it just doesn't work that way. I am off to the
pharmacy now maybe I can find a good remedy for this breakout. Any ideas out
there let me know.

This new 360 grill is absolutely wild. I want to make some awesome dishes with
this grill. You will see it in episode 5. All contestants were awarded this
grill and boy am I happy. After trying to take Yanicks at the US OPEN , I guess
it really showed that its a hot item. I have made some great dishes and hope
that I can keep from stirring up some Holiday Comfort food. I can't turn back
now because I really do feel great and love the compliments.
As the seasons begin to change on us, I feel the need to bake and have some
sweet treats around. I love to entertain and from what I have been reading I
think this Holiday Season will bring a new season of Taste. I have read up on a
lot of great treats like, pineapple upside down cake make with wheat flower and
sweetened only by the pineapple. The grilled vegetable salad with chestnuts and
butternut squash.
Its the last month ladies and Gents and I am still on track. I may have to wire
my mouth shut in the next couple of months but thanks to a new mind set I am
very sure I CAN DO THIS!!

I went to the doctor's about my leg finally and heard exactly what I didnt want to hear. I have to stay off of it for about a week and I am not allowed to do anything active for a month. This means I really have no way to do cardio at the end. I am going to keep eating healthy but the workouts are done for now. I know its good for my leg but not good for this competition... NOT HAPPY!

i'm in rehearsals for an opera at the moment and had a fitting about 10 days ago...after being measured by the costumer about 2 1/2 weeks before that...and, well, needless to say, nothing fits.
i warned the costumer that I'd most likely be dropping inches, but who can predict these things?! i'm swimming in the costume to the point of tripping over the skirt (which was sliding down my hips...), and i think it will be held together by safety pins by the end of the show's run!!
still, i'm pretty excited to have this "problem", tripping onstage and all...
