Rated 1 out of 5 by from Smoking on the first use!? I bought this just over a week ago, and the first time I use it (just now, actually) it started smoking from the "min-max" setting knob. We were trying to make hamburgers, and we had to take it outside to deal with all of the smoke. Is this normal? Will it stop?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy This Just bought this and tried it for first time tonight. Awful cooking experience. This grill has a slope to it and when I opened it up, my food slid right into the floor. I did not use any oil or spray on oil. I cooked it straight on grill like the book said. I would try to push the food back to the top and couldn't get the lid closed without the food sliding out. I was only cooking two pork chops. I've had GF grills ever since they came out. My old one died last month and I would love to have that model back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do NOT buy this grill This is my second time buying this exact grill. The first one just died after about 10 months. Right on time the second one stopped working after 10 months. Both JUST 100% dead. They are never moved from their initial position so we did not damage them moving them about. Also this grill leaks grease like crazy.. On top of that unless you really use alot of PAM or cooking oil or butter these plates will rip the top layer off of your meat 100% every time. Very disappointed and out A LOT of money. Not cool at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from doesn't cook We love the foreman grills, except for cleaning them, so we bought this removable ceramic plate model figuring we would be loving it. Not so much. It does not heat up hot enough to cook anything...tried bacon yesterday (once you do bacon on a foreman grill, there is no other way to cook bacon)...ended up dragging our old foreman grill up from the basement (where my college student son lives) to cook the bacon. Today, tried burgers (maybe something thicker would work???) Nope. Surely something is wrong with this specific unit. I look forward to a response.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage I bought this three days ago. The first time I used it, it took 25 minutes to cook 4 hamburgers. The second time I used it (today), it was still cooking them after 40 minutes! The burgers were light brown by then. I got tired of waiting an transferred the burgers to a regular skillet. And the griddle? Like everyone else is saying, the meat literally slides off as soon as you open the lid.Seriously, I want my money back.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from grease runs over, meat slides off I just bought my Dad one of these and he is not happy, he wants his old one back. He wants to open it and try to fix it, he's 86 and in his mind it has to be something simple he can fix. He used his old George Foreman so much that it was like loosing his ability to cook. He has forgotten how to use the stove and we are kind of afraid of him using it anyway, but he hates this new grill. He says the grease runs over and gets all over the cabinet and his steaks slide down and into the grease soon as he lifts the lid. Don't know what I'll do yet, I've been reading about some of the other grills but don't know what would be best. I'm really upset as I had planned to buy us one too. Oh yeah, he says it doesn't heat up like his old one either and took way longer to cook even on high.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Was great until it dies!! This is our 3rd GF! we use it all the time - especially with 2 growing teenage boys. The first 2 we wore the teflon off so we figured the ceramic would last longer. We have had it about 5 months and cooked burgers on it yesterday. Today, it no longer works! Any help is appreciated>

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Is great ... when it worked ... I received a “George Foreman GRP1001BP 6-serving removable plate grill” for my birthday in May of last year (2016), but I don’t remember who gave it to me and I do not have a receipt. I really wouldn't want to embarrass myself by asking who gave it to me, and I wouldn't want to embarrass anyone else by telling them that their gift failed/broke.I didn’t really use it that much at all at first, but since then, business had gotten bad, and I have lost a lot of my income, so I had to move into a smaller apartment and start pinching pennies, and that means I had to begin cooking at home a lot more. I still cook quite a bit on the stove but when cooking things like steak, hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken, I use the grill.I have only used it maybe 15-20 times since I started cooking with it, and the last time I did, it turned on ok, and got up to the correct temperature. I turned around to the counter behind me to get the burgers I was going to cook, and when I turned back to put them on the grill, the unit was off (all lights were off). My first assumption was that the circuit breaker had tripped, so I check and nope, no problem there. So, I plugged something else into the same socket and it worked. I tried letting the unit cool all the way down, and then plugged it in again, but it still wouldn’t work.My previous indoor/outdoor unit, which I used so often that I wore the Teflon out/off, lasted me years, so I am baffled as to why this one only lasted for maybe 20 short cooking sessions. Mind you, I 've only cooked things like burgers or chicken thighs on the grill, and I live alone, so it’s not like I was cooking for extended periods of time or cooked tons of food on it when I did. I really loved the fact that this one had removable ceramic plates on it, rather than Teflon but, I need it to work.I understand that this has a 3-year warranty but, as I said, it was a birthday present, and I don’t know for sure who gave it to me. I am now on a very limited budget, and can’t afford to replace the unit myself so, I am hoping that someone can help me get this serviced or replaced somehow … preferably for free.
