Outdoor Grilling
Q. Can I grill outdoors on a George Foreman grill?
A. For our regular indoor grills, it is not recommended that they are used to cook outdoors. However, we do have several indoor-outdoor grill models that will allow you to do both. These grills come with a removable pedestal that lets you use the grill on your counter or outdoors on the pedestal.
Q. Do I have to use the dome lid when cooking?
A. Like a traditional outdoor grill, you can use any of the indoor-outdoor grills without the dome lid – some even include a lid hanger, so you have a place to hang the lid up off the ground as you cook without it. The dome lids simply allow you to do things like roasting and/or adding natural flavor to food as you cook.
Q. The vent on my outdoor grill slides. Why?
A. This is normal. The adjustable slide vent on the dome lid allows you to control the amount of smoke release as you cook; this affects the flavor in your finished food. The more the vent is closed, the greater the smoky flavor in your food; the more it’s open, the less smoky flavor you will have.
Q. Can I use my indoor-outdoor grill to roast?
A. Yes. Simply place the food to be cooked in a roasting pan, set it gently on the cooking plate and place the dome lid over it. You can use the adjustable slide vent to adjust the smoke level.
Q. How often do I turn meat when grilling on an indoor-outdoor grill?
A. We recommend turning meat only once on our indoor-outdoor grills. This will provide the best results in your finished food with the expected exterior texture and traditional grill marks you see at steakhouses.
