SICILIAN MEAT ROLL | With Ham & Cheese

If you want a hot and delicious dish to pass at your next party look no further. Serve up these ham and cheese beauties and don’t go to far from the kitchen, you’ll need to make more soon.


  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • ½ cup soft breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup tomato juice
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh parsley leaves, minced
  • ½ tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 4 slices thinly sliced ham
  • ⅔ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 slices mozzarella cheese


Combine first 6 ingredients in medium size bowl.

Add ground beef; mix well.

Place meat mixture on aluminum foil and pat into a 6 x 12 inch rectangle. Top with sliced ham and shredded cheese.

Starting at the short end, roll meat in to a log using the foil to lift. Seal edges and ends of meat roll.

Preheat the Contact Roaster.

Place meat roll seam side down in roaster and set timer for 10 minutes. Close lid; brown 5 minutes. Turn meat over; brown 5 minutes more.

Place browned meat in baking pan; set timer to bake 30 minutes or until meat reaches 160 degrees F.

Remove pan from roaster; top meat with cheese slices. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
